The aim of the initiative is to plant over 10,000 trees that were lost during the Filomena storm.
Real Madrid has joined the Re-Planta Madrid project, an initiative promoted by Madrid Futuro that aims to replant over 10,000 trees and recover the tree population that was lost after the Filomena storm hit the Spanish capital. The phenomenon affected over 700,000 of the city's trees, i.e. around 30% of its tree population, and in the case of 70,000 trees, the damage was irreparable.

Project phases
The Re-Planta Madrid scheme comprises three phases. The first run from January and April and involved gathering the support of around 20 companies, who contributed a total of over 400,000 euros. During the second phase, which is currently underway and runs until June, anyone can make a contribution by donating a tree or making a donation and planting their tree via the #ReplantaMadrid crowdfunding campaign at replantamadrid.com. Finally, between October 2021 and February 2022, when the vegetation goes into a dormant state during winter, the planting days with citizens will begin.
