Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives supports the social sports schools in Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Uzbekistan.
Iker Casillas, assistant director general of the Real Madrid Foundation, has met with the board of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), headed by its director, Sara Al Nuaimi, in Dubai. MBRGI is the Real Madrid Foundation's partner in the Middle East and North Africa. At the meeting, Casillas had the chance to get a first-hand look at the joint work being carried out in the region thanks to the support of the company in sustaining the social sports football schools in Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Uzbekistan.

On his first international trip, Casillas shared his experience over the course of his first season working with the Foundation, having visited all of its different activities in Spain, from the adapted and inclusive social sports schools for young people (the social educational area similar to the international projects supported by MBRGI), to the projects at safe houses and detention centres, hospitals, and centres for the homeless, unemployed or the aged. These collectives are not supported by the Foundation beyond the Spanish borders, so he was able to share his knowledge on these programs.

Upcoming projects
Al Nuaimi focused on the joint schools and projects set to be put into place in the cities of Tangier and Ben Guerir (Morocco),Alexandria (Egypt) and Fuheis (Jordan). There will also be a project run by Al Baqa’a and the refugee camps in Irbid, as well as two schools in Egypt, two in Uzbekistan and one in the refugee camp in Jordan, Mrajeeb Al Fhood, supervised by the Emirates Red Crescent.
