Florentino Pérez hosted a meeting with Claver-Carone as a part of the agreement that has been in place between the Real Madrid Foundation and the banking institution in Latin America and the Caribbean since June 2017.
Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez met with the new executive director of the Inter-American Development Bank, Mauricio Claver-Carone at Real Madrid City in what was his first visit to the Spanish capital following his appointment as the head of the multilateral development bank.
The Inter-American Development Bank has supported the Real Madrid Foundation's socio-sporting schools in Argentina, Costa Rica and Peru and has helped children and young people at risk and living in vulnerable situations. The Foundation's projects see participants receive a values-based education through sporting activity and the tools to enhance their entrepreneurial skills and employability.

The meeting involved discussion of the role that the Real Madrid Foundation will play as a member of the Coalition of the Private Sector for the recovery of Latin America and the Caribbean in the post-pandemic context, an initiative that the Inter-American Development Bank is leading. The meeting also highlighted the importance of the Foundation's projects as a tool to cater for the migrant population, prevent violence and promote social integration.
