In the 1991/92, the forward netted a brace in the win over Athletic.
The star of this week's instalment of Historic Goals is Emilio Butragueño. The forward arrived in the Real Madrid first team after shining at Castilla. He was the man who lent the name to the Quinta del Buitre, and stood out for his speed in the box, skill on the ball and all-round technical ability.

In the 1991/92 campaign, Real Madrid visited San Mamés on LaLiga matchday 3. This week's standout goal was the striker's second and the third in a 1-4 win over Athletic. Míchel picked the ball up on the right-hand side and crossed into the box, where Butragueño stormed in from deep to send a header looping over the goalkeeper.
Butragueño played for Real Madrid for 12 seasons, making 463 appearances and scoring 171 goals. He lifted 15 trophies with our club: 2 UEFA Cups, 6 LaLiga titles, 2 Copas del Rey, 1 Copa de la Liga and 4 Spanish Super Cups.
