Today marks 24 years since Real Madrid's basketball team won their fourth FIBA Saporta Cup. The team was led by Obradovic at the time, while current coach Pablo Laso was in the playing ranks. They ran out comfortable winners in the final held in the Cypriot capital Nicosia, beating Mash Verona 78-64, with Herreros (19 points), Arlauckas (18) and Bodiroga (17 and 7 assists) putting in standout performances on the way to the madridistas lifting the trophy.

Real Madrid dominated the final from start to finish, storming into half-time with a 6-point lead in the bag (36-30). It was after the break though, that Obradovic's men really stepped it up, racing to a significant advantage which they held onto well to clinch victory.
