Real Madrid Castilla-Extremadura: second stage of league begins

Raúl's side face the first of their six matches in the race for promotion (6pm CET).
Castilla finished in a highly deserved second place in the first phase in Subgroup A of Group V of the Segunda División B. Now the academy team returns to action in the second phase and will be aiming to get into the promotion playoffs. This afternoon they face their first opponents, Extremadura (6pm CET). The Whites will be vying to get off to a winning start to try to finish in the top three spots and secure a place among the 16 teams that will compete for promotion to the Segunda División.
The team currently occupies third place at the start of the second phase, for which a league table has been drawn up with the three best teams from subgroups A and B, in accordance with the points obtained by each of the teams in the first phase. Castilla will play against Badajoz, Talavera de la Reina and Extremadura, but the standings will also take into account the results obtained against San Sebastián de los Reyes and DUX Internacional de Madrid.
The team from Almendralejo finished their sub-group in second place and in the new standings they are fourth with 31 points, one point behind Castilla. Extremadura have netted 24 goals and Kike (6), Rubén Mesa (5) and Copete (4) have scored 15 of those goals. Defensively, they have conceded 16 goals so far.
