The club with 23 European Cups to its name was founded on 6 March 1902.
Real Madrid celebrates its 119th birthday. On 6 March 1902, the first Board of Directors of the Madrid Football Club was officially elected, marking the birth of the best club in the world. Since then, Real Madrid has become a symbol of sport and the club's 23 European Cups (13 in football and 10 in basketball) further enhance its legendary status.
The club's supremacy in Europe goes hand in hand with its dominance in LaLiga. Last year the club clinched its 34th trophy and extended its lead at the top of this ranking. As for the rest of our club's spectacular list of honours, other highlights include 13 European Cups, 7 Club World Cups, 4 European Super Cups, 2 UEFA Cups, 19 Copa del Rey trophies, 11 Spanish Super Cups, 1 League Cup, 2 Latin Cups and 2 Small World Cups. In addition, Real Madrid was voted by FIFA as the Best Club of the 20th Century.

Last year, the club also won the UEFA Youth League for the first time, under the guidance of club legend Raúl in the finals in Nyon. The women's team and its youth academy began a new chapter in Real Madrid’s history books last summer.
