Huesca - Real Madrid

Casemiro: "Well done to the squad because this was a very tough match, with so many players missing"

“There are still 51 points to play for and that means there’s a lot of games still to come”, said the Brazilian.
After Real Madrid’s win at El Alcoraz, Casemiro, who played the full 90 minutes against Huesca, gave his view on the team’s win: “There’s no doubt about it, this was an important win. We’ve been missing some important players, like Nacho who returned after being away because of COVID-19 and had only trained twice. I’m delighted with the win and well done to the squad because this was a very tough match, with so many players missing.”

“We controlled the game and played really well in the first half. In the first 10 or 15 minutes of the second half they pressed us, created chances and scored a great goal. But we fought back. First with Benzema’s free-kick that Varane headed in. Then we kept pressing for the winner.”

Courtois’ save
“He made a great save and then we controlled the game again. That save was one of the key things. If they’d scored then the match would’ve been even more difficult for us. We also had more chances to score. They deserve a lot of respect because they have a lot of quality.”

Teamwork
“We shouldn’t be talking about individual players because when we win, we win as a team. It was a difficult match at a tough place to come and it was a hard-fought win.”

Long way to go in LaLiga
“There are still 51 points to play for and that means there’s a lot of games still to come. We have to take it one game at a time and focus on Getafe now. There’s still a long way to go but I still believe.”
