"We'll have to be focused and display our energy right from tip-off", explained Carroll.
Pablo Laso and Jaycee Carroll addressed the media in the build-up to the EuroLeague Round 18 match-up between Real Madrid and AX Armani Exchange Milan (Friday, 9pm CET). The Whites’ coach previewed the contest in the following terms: “It's difficult to know exactly what kind of game to expect against a great team like Milan. It's got very good players in every position and is a really strong all-round team. What's more, they have a coach who knows the EuroLeague inside out. It's a team that's been assembled to compete at the very highest level and we're going to have to put in a really big effort if we're to be competitive”.

“We come into the game following a trip featuring two tough away games, in Tenerife and Andorra, and we've got a few absentees, like Llull, Deck and the minor injury picked up by Rudy in the game in Andorra. He tried to train and we'll have to see how he's doing tomorrow, but we've got to be careful with it because it's a muscular issue. Llull will likely remain sidelined and that's one that’ll need more time. Deck trained with the team today. We’ll be careful with the three of them right up until the last and we'll have to see how they're doing for tomorrow's game, whilst bearing in mind that the rest of the team is feeling the effect of so many matches and trips”.

Second half of EuroLeague campaign
“In a Regular Season it's difficult to assess where you’re at in each moment, but we're currently in a good position. We’re aware that we're up against the best teams in Europe and that we're going to have to perform really well to win. It doesn't matter who you're up against because they're all great teams. For me, I'm more worried that the team performs well and is able to put in good performances”.

Laso: "I consider that Tyus is ready to play".

“The games last 40 minutes,  whether that works in your favour or goes against you. The team is managing the end of the games well and I feel as if we're able to see the matches out well and head into the final minutes with a chance of winning the games. That speaks volumes of the work being put in by the players”.
“I think he’s doing well. He's a player who comes into the game in good form. He adapts pretty fast to the needs of the team and in the few training sessions he's had he has made an effort to settle in quickly. The players have given him a warm welcome and I consider that he's ready to play tomorrow”.
Carroll: “We’ve taken a forward step”
“We head into the game with great desire. We've had a good few weeks and will be fighting until the end to secure victory. We've taken a forward step in the EuroLeague and have produced a response. We're playing with focus and aggression and are performing with intensity”.

“We’ll be in for a tough game against Milan. They've got a very good team with some very experienced players in the EuroLeague who have fought for silverware at other clubs. We're up against great opponents and we'll have to display our energy and focus right from tip-off to be in with a chance of winning”.
Personal level
“I'm feeling good and am raring to compete and will give my all every minute I'm out on the court to contribute and do positive things out there. We're delighted to be back and playing at home. We’re really missing the fans, but we can feel their presence and see the support they give us on social media”.
