MoraBanc Andorra - Real Madrid

Laso: "Our last three wins on the road are really good news"

NEWS | 04/01/2021

"We're pleased with the win because we knew it'd be a tough game", explained
Abalde in the aftermath of the match-up against MoraBanc Andorra.
Pablo Laso and Alberto Abalde shared their thoughts about Real Madrid’s win over Morabanc Andorra, with the Whites coach reflecting on the game in the following terms: “We knew it’d be a tough game and that proved to be the case. They caused us real problems with offensive rebounds and we showed we're able to dig in. We were aware we were in for a tough Christmas period with some really demanding games and our last three road wins are really good news. That said, we’re lacking freshness, just like all the other teams”.

“Andorra has some very good players on pick and roll and they’re very good in terms of their running. They’re really aggressive in defense and Ibon has done some magnificent work with this team. That's particularly true this season, in which we're all aware of the difficulties they’re facing”

Abalde’s performance
“He produced a really good performance. He performed very well and was heavily involved at the start alongside Alocén and Causeur. He then played in various positions, but managed to gain that confidence at the start, thanks to his success in the shooting stakes”.

Rudy injury
“He’s pulled something there in behind. We’ll take a look at it and I hope that it's nothing serious”.

Abalde: “We managed to improve in the second half”
“We're pleased with the win. We knew it’d be a tough game because Andorra is a very dangerous team, is very quick on transitions, very direct and strong on offensive rebounds, where they caused us major problems. Without producing a great performance, we managed to work as a team, improve in the second half and ultimately establish the lead that allowed us to win the game”.
