Real Madrid's honorary president is the only player to have lifted the European Cup six times.
On 21 October 1933, a footballing legend was born in Guarnizo (Cantabria)
Francisco Gento forged himself a spot amongst the greatest players in the history of the game thanks to his career at Real Madrid, where he spent 18 seasons, racked up 600 appearances and plundered 182 goals. He remains the European Cup's most decorated player with six trophies to his name and his darting runs down the left flank are remembered by football enthusiasts everywhere.

He was appointed as Real Madrid's honorary president in October 2016 in recognition of his achievements with our club. Alongside his European Cup triumphs, Gento's trophy haul features an Intercontinental Cup, two Latin Cups, 12 LaLiga titles, a pair of Spanish Cups and a Small Club World Cup.
