Real Madrid's next opponents in the Champions League beat Lviv and are second in the Ukrainian League.
Shakhtar Donetsk thrashed Lviv before their visit to Real Madrid in the Champions League, and got a valuable win in the Ukrainian League, which this weekend is on matchday six. The team managed by Portuguese Luis Castro claimed an emphatic win at the Olympic stadium in Kiev in 18 minutes, when they were 4-0 ahead.

Viktor Kovalenko took centre stage in the clash. He scored two of Shakhtar's goals, the first in the 9th minute and the fourth in the 18th, before being substituted in the 25th minute due to injury. Between Kovalenko's two goals were those by Brazilians Marcos Antonio and Dentinho. After half an hour came a consolation goal from Shyna, the only one for Lviv to leave the score at 4-1 at the break.

In the second half, with the game all but over, the pace dropped. Especially from minute 50, when the Israeli Manor Solomon, Kovalenko's replacement, scored the fifth. Shakhtar are second in the league table, two points behind Dynamo Kiev, who beat Rukh Vynnyky 1-0.
