“Every point counts for the next stage and we have to play every game as if it were the last”, the coach told Realmadrid TV.
Raúl was the star of Real Madrid Conecta, where he spoke about Castilla's league debut against Las Rozas this Sunday (12:00pm CEST): “It's a totally new competition this year, with a different format. It's really exciting and we have to be at our best from the first game. Every point counts ahead of the next stage, we have to play every game as if it were our last and try to be as competitive as possible”.
“We've got better and better during pre-season, we've improved things in every match and we come into this in good shape but we have to keep working hard. The team looks good from a physical point of view and we're clear in terms of how we want to play and that's what we'll try and produce in every game”.
The squad
“We're a very young team with a good base in the Youth League and have brought in some new faces who will give us some experience. We'll try and give our best levels in every game, so the lads can keep getting better and so we see a team out on the pitch both on an individual and collective basis every time Castilla play”.
What he asks of the team
“I ask them to go out and enjoy themselves, individually and as a group, so we can look more and more like a team. It's a new group this year but the desire is there and it's a new format so we have to maintain our best levels from the off. I'm going to focus on their performance to make sure they keep improving, with effort, attitude and energy. I'm focus my own efforts on that so they can have fun on the pitch, put in some great displays and so people will watch us on Realmadrid TV and enjoy seeing Castilla play”.
Return to competition
“We're privileged to be able to play because all the competitions stopped completely six months ago. We have to keep being responsible and taking great care in order for us to continue enjoying the thing we love”.
