Valladolid, the team's first outing of the LaLiga campaign at the Alfredo Di Stéfano, were donated to the club's Foundation for an online auction that closed on Sunday. The successful bids were placed by Real Madrid fans from all over the world, with the jerseys to be sent out to destinations including Japan, Turkey, Germany, Holland, France and Hong Kong. This scheme gives fans the opportunity to secure a piece of history from the 2020/21 LaLiga season. This show of solidarity from supporters sees a significant source of support in terms of the sustainability of the Real Madrid Foundation's socio-sporting projects, which cater for thousands of vulnerable children in over 70 countries, maintained.
This was the first jersey auction of the campaign and participation levels were once again extremely high. The MatchWornShirt platform, one of the Foundation's specialists partners, will professionally disinfect each jersey before sending them out to the winners so as to safeguard supporters' health. UV-C treatment eliminates all viruses, bacteria and traces of DNA from the jerseys, whilst at the same time conserving special match elements, such as mud and grass marks.
