NEWS | 12/08/2020The collaboration in integral projects aimed at helping vulnerable communities increased by more than 20% during the 2019/20 season.
After the lockdown these integrated actions include school, psychological and social support classes, as well as awareness and prevention activities, while continuing to educate in values and promoting physical exercise at home and abroad following the health procedures that the local authorities have established. Partnerships such as the one with the Government of Rivers State, Nigeria, continue to strengthen the rights of children. Senegal stands out in particular, developing five projects in collaboration with the Salesian Missions, the Escuelas Pías, and the Xaley Foundation.
The people taking part in the Real Madrid Foundation's projects in Africa have also had to deal with endemic problems such as malaria, HIV and hunger, as well as the locust plague. As a result, medical check-ups and campaigns to promote health and healthy living habits that are carried out in the socio-sporting schools with different educational outreach activities are essential in the area. One of the highlights of the season was the one carried out by the Real Madrid Foundation together with GSK on World Malaria Day.
