Zidane won his eleventh title as Real Madrid coach.
Real Madrid were the best side in a league campaign that saw them end up unbeaten at home. Not only did they excel at home, they also picked up the most points on the road. Another key to their success was their defensive solidity, winning the title after conceding the least number of goals in the competition. Courtois won the Zamora Trophy and, in attack, the scoring efforts of practically the entire squad and, especially, the top Real Madrid top scorer: Benzema (21 goals), stood out.
