Today is the fourth anniversary of Real Madrid's 33rd basketball League title. On 22 June 2016, Pablo Laso's team were crowned champions when they beat Barcelona 91-84 in Game 4 of the final. Our team were up against home-court advantage, falling to defeat in the first game at the Palau, before running out winners in Game 2, and then backing that up with a further two victories in front of their own fans. Llull was the standout man in the decider, posting 21 points; Ayón, took 9 rebounds, while Sergio Rodríguez was also key with 6 assists.
Real Madrid finished second in the Regular Season, with the same record of wins and losses as first place: 29 victories, 5 defeats. UCAM Murcia and Valencia Basket were the Whites' play-off opposition. In the series against Barcelona, Llull was voted final MVP. Laso's men retained the title they had won the previous year, and closed out the 2015/16 campaign with a treble, having also lifted the Copa del Rey and the Intercontinental Cup.
