News | 21/06/2020 | Alberto NavarroThe team head into their first game on the road since the break, looking for a win that would send them top of the table (10:00pm CEST).
To do so, Zidane's men must beat Real Sociedad, who are fighting to book a place in next year's Champions League, and move level with Barcelona on 65 points. The head-to-head record between the two (draw at the Camp Nou and win at the Bernabéu) give Real Madrid the edge if they finish even.
Zidane has called up a squad of 23 players for the game. The French coach will be without the injured Nacho, Isco, Lucas Vázquez and Jović, and warned of the opposition's strengths in the pre-match press conference: “It's the first away game and we're up against a very good side that will make life hard for us”.
Champions League race
Real Sociedad come into the game embroiled in a battle to clinch a place in next season's Champions League. Sitting in sixth and just two points off fourth ahead of match day 30, they are particularly strong at home, where they are unbeaten in the last five games (four wins and a draw). Real Madrid, meanwhile, have won on 4 of their last 6 visits to San Sebastián so it's set to be a fantastic duel in what is yet another final for Zidane's charges.
