NEWS | 11/05/2020"Returning to training on my birthday was the best possible present", the goalkeeper told Real Madrid Conecta.
"I'm feeling good. The team was performing really well before all of this and we're raring to get back and fight for silverware. I can see that everyone's really raring to get back into the action and we're going to be at 100% by the time the first game comes around. We'll have Asensio and Hazard back and we'll need everyone if we're to win things".
Return to training
"You had to get changed in your room instead of in the dressing room, the protocol you have to follow with facemasks and disinfectant, the social distancing... Luckily us goalkeepers are at a bit of an advantage because we always train alone. I'm feeling good after my injury and the vibes were really good. I'm raring to keep on training and get playing".
Working out at home
"It's different at home. You try to do as best you can. I was fortunate because I asked for some gym equipment before lockdown. I did some gym work first and when I felt better, I did some specific goalkeeping work with a friend who was at home, to make sure I return to training on top form".
"They're really important. We're very lucky to be where we are and to have nice things. In these tough times, you've always got to help out. As a team, we've signed up to the initiatives led by Ramos and Isco. I also took part in some online video game tournaments to raise funds. We've been helping and mustn't stop".
"In these current times, I've got to ask for good health for everyone and to continue playing at this level of the game and to keep on winning trophies with Real Madrid. After winning the Spanish Super Cup, it makes you hungry for more. I want to win LaLiga and the Champions League too".
