Real Madrid secured the trophy after beating Estudiantes on 6 May 1962.
It has been 58 years since Real Madrid captured its eighth Spanish Cup. On 6 May 1962, Pedro Ferrándiz's men were crowned champions after downing Estudiantes in a 80-66 win in the final played at Barcelona's Palacio Municipal de Deportes. This success saw the madridistas get to keep the trophy for good after claiming it for a third straight season.

Real Madrid enjoyed a fine tournament campaign, winning its three match-ups by an average of at least 20 points. In the quarters, the Whites saw off Club Agromán (88-64); and proved too strong for Picadero (76-55) in the semi-finals.
