Real Madrid captured the crown by downing Joventut on 28 April 1963.
It has been 57 years since Real Madrid secured the club's sixth basketball league crown. On 28 April 1963, Joaquín Hernández's charges were mathematically crowned champions in the penultimate round of games of the final phase after downing Joventut in a 112-66 triumph. The standout performer in that match-up was Emiliano, who posted 44 points. This success represented a fourth straight national league title for the Whites, who cemented their dominance on the Spanish basketball scene by winning the next three editions to make it seven titles in a row.

The madridistas dominated the league in that season and posted 14 wins from the 16 games across the first and final phases. In the latter, they collected 11 points to the nine amassed by Estudiantes and Joventut. Emiliano, who ended the season as the league's top scorer with 319 points to his name, paced a team in which other key players were Sevillano, Lolo Sainz, Clifford Luyk and Burgess.
