In 1964, the team clinched the league crown courtesy of a draw against Sevilla, whilst victory over Gimnasio de Vigo secured the 1908 Spanish Cup.
On 12 April 1908, Madrid claimed a 2-1 victory over Gimnasio de Vigo in the Spanish Cup final, which was contested in the capital. This win represented the Whites' fourth straight triumph in the competition as the madridistas established themselves as the dominant force in the tournament's early years.

Also on 12 April, but on this occasion in 1964, Real Madrid tasted LaLiga glory after playing out a 1-1 draw at home to Sevilla. A  Ferenc Puskas strike with three minutes remaining saw the madridistas pick up the point they needed to mathematically land the club's fourth LaLiga title in a row and the 10th in the club's history. This side, managed by Miguel Muñoz, featured the league's top marksman (Puskas with 21 goals) and the Zamora Trophy winner, which goes to the goalkeeper to concede the fewest goals in the division, in José Vicente.
