Real Madrid secured the title with a 3-0 win over Cordoba.
It is the 53rd anniversary of the Real Madrid's 12 league title. On 9 April 1967, the Whites mathematically won the title in front of their own fans with a 3-0 win over Cordoba in the penultimate round of matches. In the second half of the game, the Bernabéu witnessed the title race being won, thanks to goals from GrossoVeloso and Amancio.
That season, Real Madrid beat Barcelona in the table with a five-point lead and were unbeaten at home. On an individual level, Betancort was the competition's Zamora, as best goalkeeper, while Gento (11 goals) and Grosso (10) were the team's top scorers. That madridista team was led by Miguel Muñoz, who won his sixth league title.
