The Real Madrid Foundation-run Historic Heritage Centre is home to over 259,000 artefacts and documents relating to the club's history. Featuring amongst the collection is the basketball team's seventh European Cup, with today marking the 40th anniversary of that triumph. On 27 March 1980, Real Madrid downed Maccabi Tel-Aviv in an 89-85 win in a final played in Berlin that featured madridista legends including Rullán (the team's top scorer in that game with 27 points), Corbalán, Brabender and Szczerbiak.

The team's seventh European Cup crown, which is on display in the Tour Bernabéu museum, was on show in the old trophy room, alongside the rest of Real Madrid's silverware, up until the opening of the museum in 1999.
