"It's a different kind of feeling because it's strange to play without any fans", explained Tavares.
Pablo Laso and Walter Tavares, the team's standout performer with a PIR of 29, reflected on Real Madrid's behind-closed-doors win over AX Armani Exchange Milan. The Whites' boss had the following to say: "I'm really happy with the win, knowing just how tough it was and that we didn't make a very good start, but we managed to turn the game around. We made a lot of mistakes in our game plan in the first half, but we recovered and followed the plan we had. I think that we had a good third stanza, we didn't score many points but we controlled things pretty well".
"Then, in the last quarter, we scored some open shots and I think that was the key to the win, knowing that it's very tough to win here against a great side in Milan. We played much better after the first half. We didn't play great offensive basketball because we missed shots, but we were playing in the right way. Then, in the final stanza when we scored points, we made all the difference".
Tavares: "We did a great job"
"It's a different kind of feeling because it's strange to play without any fans in the stands. It was a road trip, it was tough to win, but we did a great job. It doesn't matter if we played well or not, as long as the team wins, I'm really happy".
