The event, organised by Real Madrid Next, will take place on March 27, 28 and 29 at the Teatro Goya Multiespacios.Real Madrid Next, the brand under which the club will develop innovation projects in collaboration with start-ups and different companies, will begin its activities in the e-health area with the celebration of the First Congress of Medicine and Sciences applied to Sports. This event will take place from March 27th to 29th at the Teatro Goya Multiespacios (Madrid).
After the opening ceremony, the congress will start with seven presentations and a round table, which will have as protagonists the main world experts in sports medicine, as well as institutions, industries, sports entities and universities of the highest level linked to the sector.
First of all, Dr. Vyacheslav Fetisov, former Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation, will speak about the elite athlete and the medical body. Then, Dr. Niko Mihic, Director of the Medical Services of Real Madrid, will talk about health biomarkers in sport.
Next, Dr. Daniel Cooper, Director of Medical Services for the Dallas Cowboys, will take the floor to talk about the surgical treatment of muscle injuries in sport. Then, Dr. Aaron L. Baggish, an associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, will take the floor to discuss sudden death in sports.
Dr. Suzanne Huurman of PSV Eindhoven will focus on the specifics of health in women's football. And Gregory Dupont, head of physical preparation for Real Madrid's first team, will talk about post-match recovery in football.
The final presentation will be given by Dr. Pedro Belón, physiotherapist of the first team of Real Madrid, who will discuss physiotherapy in tendinopathy. Finally, there will be a round table moderated by Dr. Manuel Leyes.
