The banking institution collaborates in the socio-sporting projects for the integration of immigrant minors in Madrid.
The Real Madrid Foundation and HSBC have renewed their partnership for an eighth successive year. The bank will continue to support the Foundation's socio-sporting projects that focus on the integration of immigrant minors in Madrid through value-based football and basketball training. In a ceremony held at the Santiago BernabéuReal Madrid ambassador, Santiago Solari; and Enrique Sánchez, executive vice-president of the Real Madrid Foundation, joined Mark Hall, CEO of HSBC in Spain, to put pen to paper on an agreement which extends a partnership that has seen the financial institution contribute towards the Foundation's objectives since 2012.

Also involved in this project are Madrid City Council social services, El Corte Inglés and Colgate-Palmolive. This scheme sees 100 immigrant children from the council support centres at Valdelatas and San Roque enjoy football and basketball as an educational tool and an appropriate use of their leisure time. The service also includes an afternoon snack which is nutritionally suitable, promotes hygienic habits and transports the minors.

HSBC outreach efforts grow year on year
Solari highlighted "the growing support of committed organisations like HSBC, whose staff this year contributed to the Christmas project". For his part, Hall noted: "We're really proud to be extending our support into an eighth consecutive year. We believed the Foundation's project represented a marvellous challenge from the outset, given that it places the children at the heart of the project. After all, the children will be the ones tasked with driving the society of the future, based on sustainable economic development".
