Cesal, Crecemos DIJO, Renovalia and Grupo Bimbo renew their alliance with the socio-sporting school in Aerogubiños

The Unión Hidalgo school (Mexico) has helped 1,000 young people for the last seven years.
The Real Madrid Foundation has overseen the collaboration agreement signed by its NGO partner Cesal with Crecemos DIJO and companies Renovalia and Grupo Bimbo in order to develop the Aerogubiños socio-sporting school in Unión Hidalgo. The event took place at the Santiago Bernabéu and was attended by Enrique Sánchez, vice-president of the Real Madrid Foundation; Emilio ButragueñoReal Madrid's Director of Institutional Relations; the director of Cesal, Pablo Llano; the managing director of Grupo Renovalia, José Manuel Olea; the Director General of Crecemos DIJO, Socorro del Río Angulo; and the Global Treasury vice-president of Grupo Bimbo, Tania Dib.

This school aims to improve the quality of life of young people in the Unión Hidalgo community, an area of Mexico where they are exposed to a range of social problems, through practising sports and providing wholesome free-time activities. This is complimented with academic, nutritional and community activities which also get the families involved.

The project, Our Future is Green: education against climate change, will be promoted in the school.

Emilio Butragueño highlighted: “We like to have stable, long-lasting relationships, especially when it has been demonstrated that they are beneficial for children in need of support”. Pablo Llano added: “Sport not only contributes to improving health and the use of free time, but it can also be a driver of personal and social development among young people and their communities”.
The school will also promote the Our Future is Green: education against climate change project via Renovalia, who will be supporting the school through its Mexican subsidiary DEMEX alongside Grupo Bimbo. José Manuel Olea, CEO of Grupo Renovalia, stated: “Our aim, besides developing the socio-sporting school, is to respectfully raise awareness of the environment and tackle issues surrounding it". Tania Dib added: “At Grupo Bimbo we're very happy to be able to participate in this project which promotes a combination of studies, sports and healthy eating among young people to contribute to a better world for present and future generations”.

Since 2013, the socio-sporting school has helped more than 1,000 young people through sporting activity and nutritional assistance. A total of 500 families and 5 public schools in the area have been involved, promoting values, respect for Human Rights and gender equality as central elements of this intervention model. This is one of 43 socio-sporting schools run by the Foundation in Mexico with different social entities and collaborators.
