Real Madrid lead the historical ranking in the European Cup for another year

They dominate the UEFA ranking ahead of Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

Real Madrid are the best team in the history of the European Cup. At the end of 2019, the Whites lead the standings in this competition prepared by UEFA according to a system that gives each team two points for a win and one for a draw in the matches they have played since the creation of the tournament. Real Madrid, the continent's most successful club with 13 titles, lead way with 600 points, beating Bayern Munich (474 points and five titles) and Barcelona (446 points and five titles).
 
As well as leading the way in the European Cup, Real Madrid are the team with the most wins (262) and the most goals scored (971). The Whites are well ahead of their nearest challengers, with Bayern Munich having won 201 times and scored 705 times, while Barcelona have won 187 times and scored 629 times. Since the tournament began in 1955, the Madrid club has set a record for the number of appearances, and is playing in its 50th year this season.

UEFA draws up a ranking of the 30 best European teams based on these statistics. After Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Barcelona, come Manchester United (374 points and 3 European Cups), Juventus (349 points and 2 titles) and Milan (314 points and 7 titles). Then Liverpool (289 points and 6 titles), Benfica (271 points and 2 titles) and Porto (261 points and 2 titles). Closing the top ten are Ajax (266 points and 4 titles).
