"We have to keep on working to ensure that this match remains the leading fixture in our sport on a global level", commented the president.
Real Madrid today staged the club's Christmas lunch with the media in the presidential box at the Santiago BernabéuFlorentino Pérez presided over the event and he had the following to say in his address: "We're really competing, both in football and basketball and that's boosting the excitement levels amongst our fans. Our teams know that our motto is to never give up and that'll be the case until the end of time. The basketball team has already secured the first silverware of the season in the form of the Spanish Super Cup and our footballers and basketball players give their heart and soul in search of further success and more trophies".

"We mustn't forget that we're on the eve of Spanish football's El Clásico, which generates massive expectation the world over. We have to keep on working so that El Clásico continues to attract the attention of football fans from across the world and for this match to remain the leading fixture in our sport on a global level".

Institutional stability
"Real Madrid has grown as a club over the course of all of these years. Not only has the club achieved success and trophies, which have enhanced our legacy, it has also topped the standings on the field and in financial and social terms. What's more, we're enjoying a level of institutional stability that we have to give the recognition it deserves. This stability has mainly been down to the togetherness of the club members and madridista fans and the great sense of belonging they feel towards Real Madrid”.

Our teams know that our motto is to never give up and that'll be the case until the end of time.

"We're strongly committed to our outreach work and everything that we do never seems enough, and so we're going to continue to work to increasingly improve that duty that we carry out through the Real Madrid Foundation. Outreach work is vital in trying to offer the most needy members of our society hope and excitement, particularly amongst children who are at risk of social exclusion in any part of the world".
Club's media channels
"We make massive efforts to bring ourselves ever closer to those who feel passionate about Real Madrid. As a result of this, we're the institution, brand and sporting club with the biggest global audience. On Real Madrid's social media channels, our videos have received over 3 billion views and our Realmadrid App has been downloaded 9 million times, which is more than any other app belonging to any sporting team".
"Realmadrid.com is once again, and for a third successive year, the most-visited football club website in the world. It received three times as many visits as the second-placed team, which was Liverpool. Realmadrid TV has strengthened its position with statistics that demonstrate a connection with our club members and fans. Around 1.3 million viewers tune in to our channel, which broadcasts on terrestrial television and in HD, every day

Social media followers
"In addition, Real Madrid leads the way in the standings of sporting institutions on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and is the club with the most social media followers with over 326 million users who follow us in this digital world, which is becoming increasingly globalised. This wide range of the club's own media channels is completed with 14 printed publications, including the Hala Madrid magazine, which prints around a million copies a year".
