“Our first half was fantastic and all we were lacking was the goal”, said the coach.
Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane assessed the draw at Mestalla: “We never give in, we always want more and in the end, we did enough to take the draw which is at least something after tonight's efforts. This is Real Madrid, we never let our heads drop and after Valencia's goal we had to try and get one back, and we managed to do that".

“After all we did in the first half, we were just lacking the goal. It would have been nice to have got it, given the work everyone put in. That's football, it's 90 minutes and you can't complain. Sometimes it goes against you, sometimes it falls for you, so we have to accept what football gives us”.

Evolution of the game
“The point is little reward. At the end of the day, we've picked up an important result because it's crucial to keep taking points. Our first half was fantastic, we had chances to score goals for the first 35 minutes. How we set up, with Kroos, Modric and Valverde switching positions with ease, we controlled the game well. They came into it more in the second half, but it was important to pick up the point today”.

We drew the game but I think we deserved a bit more.

"I don't know how many games Casemiro's played... 21? I had to give him a little rest. Casemiro wasn't expected to play in this match. All three did very well. Because on top of this, Casemiro has played a lot of matches and I'm very happy with how we did, the whole team. We drew the game but I think we deserved a little more today".

Isco and Rodrygo
"That's what we did in the first half. They worked a lot in attack and defensively and the choice was to add a little more directness through Bale and Vinicius. In the end it didn't come off how we expected".
