Brahim: "I always wanted to play at the greatest club of all time"

NEWS | 02/12/2019

The attacker was the special guest in the latest episode of Realmadrid TV's Campo de Estrellas show.
Brahim Díaz starred in the latest instalment of Realmadrid TV's Campo de Estrellas show, in which the Málaga-born frontman reflected on his arrival at Real Madrid: "I've always lived in the here and now, I've never thought about the future, but when a club like Real Madrid come calling, you really think about returning to Spain and playing for the best club in the world and in the history of the game. It was very exciting, it was a feeling of complete joy. I was always clear about the fact that I wanted to aim higher and play for the best club on the planet".

"It was a childhood dream and it was a one-off moment for my family and I.
Florentino told me to enjoy myself and said that the rest would just come naturally. The joy of seeing that pride from your parents is a unique moment. I like pressure and big challenges. History that you made, history to be made: this phrase sums up what Madrid is all about and shows the greatness of the club. When you come in, you have to be ambitious and want to win. I want to win all of the silverware going this year and help out as much as I can".

Debut
"Being at the best club in the world is a dream I've had since I was a child. With hard work and humility falls into place. My debut was so exciting. The
Bernabéu is a different kind of stadium, it makes you feel at home. When you take to the pitch, you realise the magnitude of Madrid and the Bernabéu. I'd been waiting for my moment and, when it came, I wanted to enjoy myself out on the pitch and entertain those who'd come to see me, the fans. Everything went really well".

It's a challenge to be able to win all of the silverware going for this great club.

"I'm a very direct player. I've always got my eye on goal. I'm skilful, technical, I read the game well and am aware of what's going on around me so that I can create danger. My biggest strength is my work ethic, that's what makes me better. Wanting to do well and entertaining people is what makes me the player I am out on the pitch"

Zidane
"I used to watch a lot of videos of Zidane. He's a special coach and was a special player too. It was a pleasure to watch him, how he controlled passes and the spaces. I was young and didn't get to watch him live, but I'd have loved to. He's very affectionate and has been very warm with me. I've got a really good relationship with him and am very happy that he's my coach and that I'm with him".

Injury
"I was on good form, I got injured and then was down in the dumps for a while. Never before had I had a bad run of injuries. I had to get over it as best I could and I think I've done that. It's now behind me, I've now got to look to the future, there's no other choice. I'm feeling good and am really raring to go. I train hard to be ready for what lies ahead and to be available for the coach".
