Real Madrid won the prize for Best Sporting Institution 2019 at the New York Summit gala, in the American city. Emilio Butragueño, director of Institutional Relations, represented the club at the event which looks to promote and award people, organisations and companies that look to make the world a better place through the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.

This time around, Real Madrid were recognised for their charity work and social action, as well as promoting sporting values which are vital to basic education for young people along with social inclusion for the most vulnerable children.

Butragueño: “The values of Real Madrid are the key element”
“Our 117 year history has created international prestige allowing us to reach millions of fans around the world. When we look at why Real Madrid is so successful, it is usually down to the values that we have passed own from generation to generation. These values make the difference and allow us to share our successes over the years with all of our fans”.
