The Uruguayan midfielder was the special guest in the latest episode of Realmadrid TV's Campo de Estrellas show.
Federico Valverde was the special guest in the latest installment of Realmadrid TV's Campo de Estrellas show as the midfielder reflected on his career to date and had words of praise for Zinedine Zidane: "I'll never forget the first time I played at the Bernabéu. To see the whole stadium decked out in white and them willing me on was incredible. I'm a fighter who always works with grace and I'm in very good company at Real Madrid. There are people here who help you to develop massively as a player, but as a person too".

"There are no words to describe Zidane. Even when he says hello to you you're already learning something from him. It's really good that the gaffer believes in me and in all that a Uruguayan player has to fight to make it".

Initial contact with Real Madrid
"As a child, I dreamed of playing in a huge stadium, with lots of people chanting my name. It was a really special dream, but I didn't take much notice of it until later years and until the day Real Madrid made enquiries about me. It was the club that I wanted to join and that I'd dreamed of. I thought that all that I had fought for my family was worth it and that it was a moment I had to seize, appreciate and enjoy".

Arrival at club
"When I joined Madrid, I was wowed by everything: how I was welcomed, arriving at the facilities, and discovering many things that it's impossible to have when you're a player in Uruguay. You leave friends and family behind, but I was aware that I had fought to play for Real Madrid and I couldn't let this opportunity pass".

Playing style
"My biggest strength is my vision and m tempo on the ball. I'm a player that will always try to give their best, regardless of where I'm asked to play, I've also got a lot of energy to get up and down the pitch. I get into both boxes, can defend and attack. You might say that I'm a bit temperamental out on the pitch".

Both Casemiro and Ramos are role models of what a player wearing the Real Madrid crest should be like.

"When you join Real Madrid you have to be ready for everything. I really enjoyed my time with Castilla and I made the most of it. I learned that despite wearing a Real Madrid shirt, there are always challenges".

"He's an idol of mine. I never thought that I'd get to share a dressing room with him and I love sharing games, training sessions, conversations and jokes with him. I admire his calmness and the way he sees the game. He's never gets worked up. I don't know how he does it".

"I always point to Casemiro, because I share my locker with him and we've got that South American link. We're always talking football and joking around. He shows me that personality that I really admire and that I'd like to have myself. He's a battler, he fights for the team, he supports everyone and gives you that boost. Both he and Sergio Ramos are role models of what a player wearing the Real Madrid crest should be like".

A dream?
"I dream of continuing to develop as a person and player. I want to have a family and children who can watch me play for Real Madrid”.
