“Efes is a great team and we'll have to be the best Real Madrid", explained Causeur.
Pablo Laso and Causeur spoke ahead of the Anadolu Efes-Real Madrid match in matchday four of the Euroleague (Thursday, 7:15pm). We know it's one of the most difficult away games in the Euroleague. We are up against a very demanding team, on a difficult court, but I'm confident that the team will put in a good performance and that we can get the victory".
"Elfes is a team that has very good players and has found a style of play that makes them very dangerous. They play very well in the open court, the pick & roll, they pass the ball really well and in interior positions they have a lot of strength with Dunston, Singleton... It's a Final Four team, they showed it last year with a great season".
"We have Mejri recovering and he hasn't been able to train with the group yet, so he doesn't travel to Istanbul. We'll also leave Thompkins and Reyes here. It's a situation that we have to assess during the season because there a lot of games and trips, and we must think about what lies ahead".
"The important thing is that we are able to have a good team defence, that we are all switched on, not just the men who mark. There are a lot of things you have to cover up when you play against teams of this size".

Laso: "I'm confident the team will have a good match.

"The two of them play well together. Larkin is much more liberated by having Micic in there and can take on more leading roles in attack. Micic is able to score and create a lot of play for his team. They complement each other very well. It's a very complete team overall".
Return of Thompkins
"He's a lot better and training with the team. We are looking forward to putting him in as soon as possible but I don't have a fixed day. Euroleague rules allow me to put him in almost the night before the match. I have the feeling that very soon he will be with the group".
Causeur: "We'll have to have a great defensive match".
"It will be a very difficult game because we're playing against last year's runner-up. A team that hasn't changed much, very good in attack. We'll have to have a great defensive game. It's one of the games that winning away from home is worth twice as much".
Favourable recent precedents
"I don't like statistics. Getting the better of a team like that with a lot of freedom and a lot of scoring ability is very difficult. You have to focus on the 40 minutes, pay attention to the rebound. They're a great team and we'll have to be the best Real Madrid".
Moment of form
"I feel very good physically and confident. When I go out I try to help with points, intensity, etc".
