Real Madrid - UCAM Murcia

Iberostar Tenerife-Real Madrid: League leaders look to remain unbeaten

See video

NEWS | 05/10/2019 | Nacho Díaz

The Whites, who have gone two games unbeaten, visit a totally replenished team (8:30pm CEST).
Real Madrid have won all of their official games so far. Two wins in the Super Cup, one in the Euroleague (against Fenerbahçe on Thursday) and two more in the Endesa League, where they are top of the table due to basketaverage. Today they play Iberostar Tenerife at the Santiago Martín where they have had a successful last three visits (two in regular competition and two more in the 2017/18 playoffs).

The Whites have started the campaign in a positive manner and they want to remain unbeaten. Strong offensive performances in the league (92.5 points on average) and toughness in defense (conceding just 69 points in the two games, the second fewest points conceded in the first two game days).

Laso's team have the most rebounds and are the highest valued in LaLiga.

The Whites are rebound leaders but face Dani Díez who averages 9.5 per game. There will be real challenges in the paint for Tavares, Garuba, Mickey and Randolph (who could play game number 100 in the league). They travel to Tenerife with the exception of Carroll, who is still off after his coup against UCAM Murcia, and Thompkins, who is not registered.

A new Tenerife
Iberostar Tenerife have completely renewed the squad compared to last campaign and now have up to eleven new faces, and most of them have ACB experience. These include exmadridistas Santi Yusta and Álex Suárez. Recently, the offensive responsibilities have fallen to the likes of Shermadini, Huertas, Salin - all three have over 15 points- and Dani Díez (13.5). The Georgian center and the Madrid-born forward are the two players who are the most crucial in Txus Vidorreta’s team, who have a 1-1 balance (home loss and home win). As Laso said in his press conference: a tough test.
