REPORT | 08/09/2019 | Rodrigo SalamancaThe reseves lose for the first time this season against Peña Deportiva.
- 2 Division B Group I
- Matchday 3
After a first quarter of an hour that was uncomfortable for Raúl’s side, the Real Madrid players began to put pressure on the opposition goal and with 18 minutes on the clock, Pedro almost turned home a dangerous cross from Fran. Castilla kept looking for an equaliser and came close from a Baeza free kick that Javi saved. The clearest chances for the reserves came after the hydration break (30’). First it was Manu with a shot that hit the woodwork and then in injury time, with Jordi and Javi Hernández close to levelling things up for the Whites.
Home side decider
Real Madrid looked close to the equaliser at the start of the second half with a shot from Latasa that the home keeper managed to keep out. But with 55 minutes gone, Peña Deportiva got the second goal thanks to Fraile, who finished off a cross from the right wing. Castilla did not give up and pushed forward looking to get back into the game, but in the end, they couldn’t find a way through. The match finished 2-0 and the reserves will now prepare for their next league match against Langreo at the Alfredo Di Stéfano (Saturday, 8pm).
