“It was a great performance, we gave the opposition no time to think”, said Brahim.
Mariano, Brahim and Lucas Vázquez spoke to the press following Real Madrid's win over Villarreal. The forward, who bagged a brace in the game, reflected: “I'm delighted to have picked up the win at home after these recent games, and what better way to do it than by getting on the scoresheet. We enjoyed ourselves today and the key thing is that we won the game, which is what we wanted to give the fans”.

“They levelled it up when they caught us on the break but we played well and had a lot of the ball. I'm thrilled that the fans applauded me like they did. I've not got a crystal ball but I'd like to carry on playing here, I'm pleased with today's result and now we look to the future. I hope I keep getting opportunities and I'm going to work hard to ensure I do”.

Hard work
“Perhaps I've been lacking a bit of a chance but all I can do is keep working hard every single day. It's been a tough season for all of us but let's hope we come back next season full of desire and that we can get back to winning trophies”.

Brahim: “We put on a very good display”
“We head home very pleased. We put on a very good display, we showed a decent level and pressed well when we lost the ball, which is something we're used to. We did that brilliantly today and Madrid must play like that and dominate the game. We did a great job today, we didn't give the opposition any time to think”.

Lucas Vázquez: “We wanted to win the game and play some good football for the home faithful".

Zidane tells me to go out and enjoy it, to be myself and work hard for the team going forward and in defence. It's an honour to have these wonderful fans applaud you like that and for them to be happy with my performances. I hope I can keep getting minutes under my belt”.

Lucas: “We were eager to make amends in front of our fans”
“The team didn't play at all well in Vallecas and today we were eager to make amends in front of our fans and give them a win, play some great football, and for the majority of the game we managed just that. We don't like to deliver those kinds of performances because we're the ones who end up paying for it, but today we were focused from the off”.

“I've still got a contract, I'm a madridista and I hope to stay here. We've got two games left and we're going to try and finish as high up the table as possible. It'll be tough to get second but we're going to give it all we've got. We can't be pleased with how this season has gone and we needed a bit of luck at the key moments. We'll work hard to try and come back strong”.

Future
“Over the last month and a half or so, there's been a lot of talk about who's leaving and who will come in. We see all that and we just laugh about it in the dressing room. Brahim looks in great shape to me, he's fantastic off both feet, but he needs to keep growing, he's only 19 years old. He's a wonderful footballer”.

Casillas
“We found out about it just before we went out to train and we were all just in shock. I'd like to send him all my encouragement and a big hug”.
