It's aimed at coaches and is organised by the Real Madrid Foundation, KohfahlBallstrategien and supported by Adidas.
Current Under-14s coach Xabi Alonso has opened the international football coaches convention, Learning from the best. Organised by the Real Madrid Foundation alongside KohfahlBallstrategien and with support from Adidas, it's aimed at coaches from ten different countries who signed up to be part of this first convention which is being staged at Real Madrid City and the Santiago Bernabéu over the 15th, 16th and 17th of March.

The seminar, focused on perfecting technical-tactical elements of football, is made up of high-level content and things of interest for coaches relating to physical preparation, educational methodology, planning or strategies for performance optimisation. The modules boasted sessions led by Alberto Moríñigo and Jaime Torcal, from Real Madrid's Football Technical Area, and a speech by Javier Mallo, first-team fitness coach.

Xabi Alonso: “Some will make it to Real Madrid”
“I've not been here long and I could quite easily be sitting in that chair like any of you but it's important to start from the bottom because some members of our academy will make it to Real Madrid, while many others will go to other teams”.

Xabi Alonso: “It's important to start working from the base of the academy”.

The convention introduces elements of the Foundation's approach of education in values through sport, ideal for youth football and the academy set-up in the all-round development of the players. It also boasts the presence of Eva Molleja, Real Madrid academy psychologist and teachers Javier Durán, from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid; and Manuel Abad, from the Universidad de Huelva.
