The Johan Cruyff Arena will host to the Champions League last-16 meeting between Ajax and Real Madrid.
Real Madrid return to Champions League action and they do so at a stadium that holds fond memories for the club's fans. The round of 16 first-leg meeting against Ajax (Wednesday, 9pm CET) will be played at the Johan Cruyff Arena, which was previously known as the Amsterdam Arena, which is where the club lifted its seventh European Cup crown.

The stadium witnessed Real Madrid once again reign supreme in Europe 32 years on from the club's last continental success. Madrid edged out Juventus in the final played on 20 May 1998, with Mijatovic's strike enough to see Jupp Heynckes's side once again be crowned European champions.

This isn't the first time since that triumph that the team has returned to the stadium. Madrid have come up against Ajax on three occasions in recent years, with the madridistas emerging victorious in each of these games. These meetings came in the group stages of the 2010/11, 2011/12 and 2012/3 seasons and saw the Whites score 11 goals and concede once.
