NEWS | 06/02/2019 | Javier García (Barcelona) | PHOTOGRAPHER: Helios de la Rubia"1-1 doesn't feel great because we wanted to win it", said Keylor Navas.
“We'd planned a match where we'd press high up and win the ball back in their half, and we did just that, especially before half-time. Every player is extremely committed, we're all pulling in the same direction. Towards the end we had a couple of great chances to make it 1-2 but it wasn't to be. The tie is wide open and it'll be a hard-fought game next time out. We will be going all out for a win at the Bernabéu in front of our fans. All together we'll push to seal a place in the final”.
Navas: "1-1 doesn't feel great, we wanted to win it"
“Both sides had chances, we both took control of the game for different spells. Ultimately 1-1 doesn't feel so great because we wanted to win it but it's a fair result from what was a tight game. I thank God for giving me the strength, desire and motivation. I always say it's my friends, my wife and my kids who make me come out, enjoy myself and give it my all for this shirt. It's a privilege to be out on the pitch and I have to make the most of it”.
"We knew we had to score, to win you have to score goals. We got one and we hope it’s enough, if we keep a clean sheet at home, we could be in the final. It’ll not be easy".
"Anyone who thinks it's easy is wrong, we're two big teams that want to be in a final and we're going to try to do everything to be better than they are to win".
Carvajal: "It was a complete performance"
"We're happy, it's a good result because we have scored away from home. We come away thinking we could have got more but it wasn’t to be that way and now we switch our attentions to Saturday. Our best spell came at the start, going at them and the pressuring them high to set the tone".
"The game wasn't being controlled by either side with both teams having spells of pressure. On reflection the team's happy with what we've done. We have to keep pushing forward because there’s a long way to go. Us having got the away goal could be crucial if it's another draw but they're more than capable of scoring in the second leg. We have to look at the second leg as a match in front of our fans, im sure they will help us to go out after them and win it".
