“We needed to put on a show for the home crowd”, said Ramos.“We needed a game like that. That’s how we should play. All the fans will be happy with that. We haven’t forgotten to play. It has been tough recently and today was a turning point, we need to keep growing now”.
The right path
“When something is not right I’ll tell people. That is the path we need to be on, like today. We were like a perfect team and we need to keep this up. We cannot just rely on things to fall into place. We have to work hard, suffer, fight and make sure we’re at the top of table. This game is an example of how we should play and represent what this badge means”.
Change of attitude
“Our always is always positive but sometimes things don't go as you'd like or we're not at our best. Sometimes things come off, sometimes they don't. We were good from a physical point of view right from the first whistle, we ran and fought hard. When we play like we did in this game, any team is going to have trouble dealing with us”.
Refereeing performance
“Mateu Lahoz had a good game. Where I got injured was an accident. It's a clash of heads and I don't think it was a foul. We have to leave the officials alone. They were very good today”.
His future
“There's a year and a half left on my contract. I'm happy, there's no pressure and I'm not worried. Eighteen months is a long time and I'm happy at Real Madrid, like ever since I arrived here. I hope to stay longer at the club and I hope they feel the same. I want to continue here”.
Ramos: "A wonderful performance"
“It was a wonderful performance and that was ultimately reflected in the score-line. We dominated the clash throughout, we built well and finished off our chances. Had we been a bit more clinical, we would have won by more, but we’re thrilled. We were hungry to pick up a good win in front of our fans. We have to keep gaining confidence and picking up points”.
“The Bernabéu was wonderful today”, added Reguilón.
“The second half was one of our most complete of the season in terms of building the play, pressing high and trying to steal the ball in opposition territory. Hard work eventually pays off. That’s three very important points from a morale point of view as we try and turn things around. We had to get back to grips with how we know we can play and our best football”.
Casemiro’s goal
“It was a spectacular strike. He’s got a wonderful shot on him and he’s dangerous from distance. I’m thrilled he was able to open the scoring and give us more space to look for the second”.
Fans
“We’ve always felt part of something. When we’re all together, we’re stronger. The players and fans have to be pulling in the same direction and we saw how people were enjoying watching us today. We have to keep stoking that fire so people stay involved and are entertained by our football. I think people went away happy today and we have to keep it up”.
Football can be unfair at times because it’s about results. You can have a good game but a bad day at the office. In the Copa we didn’t play that well, but today we were back to it and when we work hard we show our best. We need to think about it and look at the good we’re doing and leave the negatives behind”.
Reguilón: “The fans at the Bernabéu were brilliant”
“Solari said we did well, we did it for each other and controlled the game. That’s how it went, the team played well. It is great the Bernabéu were tonight. They were superb before the first goal had even gone in”.
“We needed to put on a show for the home crowd. We were comfortable for the whole game and I think we did well. Sevilla ‘s only chance came from Escudero in the first half”.
