The full-back began his footballing journey at Real Madrid in 2002, when he came in to join the academy's Under-11s. After making his way through the ranks, Carvajal spent the 2012-13 campaign playing for Bayer Leverkusen. He came back to the Whites the following summer, and has gone on to win trophies in every season since. The defender has made 219 appearances so far, scoring five goals, and is a regular for the Spanish national team, with whom he played in the Russia 2018 World Cup.
