Kroos: "There is not better motivation than winning a third Club World Cup in a row"

"We cannot make assumptions, we need to win the final", claimed Courtois.
After the win over Kashima Antlers, which saw Real Madrid qualify for the Club World Cup final, Kroos spoke to the press: "I did not see the other semi-final. We don’t know much about them but it will certainly be a difficult game and we will have to play well if we want to clinch the title. They are similar games in the Champions League, you need to be stay focused. Today, we did not start in the best way, but we got better as the minutes went by. The second half was great, we got the winning goals."
"It's so hard to get here because you need to win the Champions League. If you get here you have to try and win it. Our motivation is the same as the other years. We have a chance to win this for the third consecutive year and there is no greater motivation than this."
Bale and Marcos Llorente
"Bale played a blinder. He gave his all for the team and tried really hard. Marcos Llorente is no surprise, I watch him in training. He is taking his opportunity well. He is in great physical shape and is doing well."
Courtois: "We cannot make assumptions"
"We need to win the Club World Cup. We cannot make assumptions about the team we face and we have to beat them. We've seen yesterday's game against River Al Ain and you cannot make assumptions regarding the opposition, it's hard. We must adapt well because they play in a different style to what we are used to in Europe."

Lucas Vázquez: “Bale is great, he scored three and really put the work in".

“The first goal was a beautiful effort and then in the second half we had to put it to bed, and we did so. We have to play with intensity and up the pace because if we manage to play at a quick tempo they can’t keep it up. They had a good chance from the corner but from 1-0 onwards we played well. The goal we conceded is a shame because we dropped off slightly”.

Casemiro: “We go away with the job done”
“I’m so happy to be back playing with my teammates. It’s been a harsh lesson but I’m back now and I’m ready when the coach needs me. I would like to thank the doctors and the physios for how much they’ve helped me and the kindness they’ve shown. They’ve been keen to get me back playing. Now I have to get back match-fit so I can play like I was doing before the injury”.
“We go away with the job done, we’re very happy. We have to respect the opposition, it’ll be a tough game. If they’re in the final, they’re there on merit. We’re eager to win the final because it’s a hugely important title for us. We have to head into this game as we always do, this club always demands the best”.
Lucas: “We’ve come to Abu Dhabi to lift the trophy”
“The first game is always difficult, nobody is here to make it easy for you. We were able to cope with that and we killed the game off in the closing stages. We give this tournament the importance it deserves. The game has helped us gather our confidence ahead of Saturday. We want to lift the trophy, that’s what we came to Abu Dhabi for and I hope we can do it. I was surprised to see River Plate go out. We imagined they’d be in the final, if your mind isn’t fully focused on the match, anyone can spring a shock like that”.
The squad
“Asensio was feeling a bit of discomfort and he struggled again today. Bale is like an aeroplane, he smashed three goals and did a fantastic job. We’re very pleased. The coach has been giving me a real chance lately and I try and repay him with my work on the pitch. We’ve got 25 players and every one is important, each of us will have their moment. We’re happy with everyone”.
