“We wanted to show we're a great team”, stated Marcos Llorente.
Lucas Vázquez struck Real Madrid's second goal in the win over Roma and the attacker had the following to say at the final whistle: "The most important thing was to get back in the groove following the Éibar result. We competed really well, ran as a team right from the first until the last minute and that's so important. We put in a bad performance the other day and wanted to make amends, both in terms of the account we gave of ourselves, our desire and the result"

"Football matches are increasingly difficult. The game was very tight, either side could have taken the lead and we were lucky enough to score soon after the break and our performance improved after that. Finishing top of the group means that we'll be in Pot 1 for the round-of-16 draw and will face a team that finishes in second, which makes it a little bit easier".

Marcos Llorente
"He put in an amazing performance, a 10/10 for me. This wasn't an easy game and he showed character and desire. We've got to be pleased with the performance".

Marcos Llorente: "The win gives us all a real lift. It was important to finish top of the group".

“I’ve had a few games now where the goal has just proved elusive and I’m thrilled to have been able to help the team out today. I was keen to score so I could dedicate it to my son”.
Llorente: “We wanted to show we’ve still got it”
“We knew it was an important game after a defeat in the league. We wanted to show we’ve still got it, that we’re a great team. The victory gives us all a real lift and it’s important to have secured top spot in the group”.

Individual performance
“I'm happy. I think I can be very pleased with the performance I put in today and I head home thrilled with a win for the team. When a player isn't getting much game time, he tries to get himself ready as best he can for when the chance comes, to slot right in as if he's been playing all along".

"Everyone wants to play. I'm at Real Madrid, and my dream is to succeed here. I've shown I am ready for when the coach wants to call on me and I hope I get more games like this to keep growing as a player”.
