Laso: "Joventut will force us to put in massive effort"

NEWS | 13/10/2018

"The team is performing well, but we have to continue improving", declared the Whites' coach.
Pablo Laso spoke to Realmadrid TV in the run-up to Real Madrid's Matchweek 4 contest against Divina Seguros Joventut at the WiZink Center (12:30 noon), with the coach previewing the game in the following terms: "The team head into the match in good shape, but we're now entering what's a demanding schedule for us. We played in the EuroLeague on Thursday and we now face Joventut, who is playing really well and did a good job of things in pre-season".

"It's a new-look team, that's more athletic and with a player who really dominates in Laprovittola. It's a tough test for us and we're aware that we've got three games next week, with four games in less than seven days. As a result, we'll have to have carefully manage those players who are carrying knocks in terms of game time and rotations. Tomorrow's game will be tough and Joventut will force us to put in massive effort".

"Victories and defeats are the result of hard work. At times, when you lose it's as if anything is terrible and things shouldn't be like that; and that after a win everything is fine and that's not the case either. We have to continue to improve as a team, there are many situations in which we're lacking a bit, both tactically and in terms of fitness. It's about getting to know each other's games better and training together for longer. Overall, the team is performing well and we're yet to lose, but, at this stage, winning and losing isn't what we're most concerned about. What I'm most worried about is that the team continues to grow, but I'm pleased with our results".
