Felipe Reyes attends ceremony to mark start of academic year at Universidad Europea de Canarias

Over 350 students attended the event and listened to the address from the captain of Real Madrid's basketball team.
The captain of the Real Madrid basketball team, Felipe Reyes, attended a the ceremony to mark the opening of the 2018/19 academic year at the 
Universidad Europea de Canarias. The event, which was led by the university's dean, Cristina Oliveira, was attended by over 350 students, who the player encouraged to learn, work as a team and always fight for their targets.

Reyes was joined by the Universidad Europea's director of communications and institutional relations, José María Palomares, with whom he discussed the values of sport and the major obstacles he has overcome to become a top-level basketball player, as well as his educational interests.

Also in attendance were the vice-minister for culture and sport at the Canary Island governement, Aurelio González; the Canary Island government's general director of the universities, Ciro Gutiérrez; the general director of planning and educative promotion at the Canary Island governement, Miguel Jonathan Martín Fumero; the minister of information society and ICT at the Tenerfie Island Council, Félix Fariña; the mayor of Puerto de la Cruz, Lope Afonso; and the mayor of La Orotava, Francisco Linares, amongst other guests.
