The winners of the last three Champions Leagues will kick off their title defence against Roma at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The Champions League is back at the Santiago Bernabéu. Real Madrid, winners for the last three consecutive campaigns, will start out on the defence of their title this Wednesday (9:00pm). The Whites kick off the competition with a huge clash with Roma, last season's semi-finalists. CSKA Moscow and Viktoria Plzen will be their other opposition in the Group Stage.

After clinching La Decimotercera in Kiev last time out, Real Madrid became the first team in history to win three Champions League titles in a row. Now, their objective will once again be reaching the final, set to take place on the 1st of June 2019 at the Wanda Metropolitano, and further add to their legendary status in Europe.

Impressive Champions League starts
Real Madrid have begun their last eleven Champions League campaigns with a win. Since beating Werder Bremen 2-1 back in 2007/08, the Whites have gone on to win every one of their inaugural ties in the competition; eight at the Bernabéu and three away from home. Last season saw them beat APOEL 3-0.
