The Whites head to Bilbao looking to record a fourth straight LaLiga win.
With the international break now over, Real Madrid return to action 14 days on from their last competitive outing. The Whites, who begin the matchday as joint LaLiga leaders, tonight face a tough test against Athletic at San Mamés (8:45pm CEST).

This encounter pits two sides against each other who're yet to have tasted defeat so far this term. Real Madrid have come out on top in each of their three games, whilst Athletic, who have played just twice following the postponement of their trip to Rayo Vallecano, have a win and a draw to their name.

Gunning for a fourth straight win
"Athletic will demand an excellent performance from us at what's a superb stadium", declared Julen Lopetegui in his pre-match press conference. In their quest for victory and as they bid to maintain their perfect record of three wins from as many league games, Real Madrid will be hoping to rely on their status as LaLiga's most clinical team.

BENZEMA, WHO'S THE JOINT-TOP SCORER IN LALIGA, HAS STRUCK EIGHT TIMES AGAINST ATHLETIC.

Athletic have had four more days' rest than Real Madrid since the teams' last competitive outings, after their trip to Vallecas was postponed. The Rojiblancos met Valladolid in a friendly on 6 September, a game in which they ran out 3-1 winners.

New-look Athletic
In the build-up, Eduardo Berizzo commented that "The stature of the opposition demands that we're really on it and we'll have to believe in what we do and be brave". The Argentine tactician isn't the only summer recruit within this new-look Athletic side. Yuri Berchiche has checked in from PSG, Ander Capa and Dani García have joined from Éibar and former FC Viitorul man Cristian Ganea are amongst the Basque outfit's new recruits.
