Roma

2-2: Roma draw at home to Chievo ahead of their visit to the Bernabéu

NEWS | 16/09/2018

El Shaarawy and Cristante hit the goals for the madridistas' next opponents.
Roma were held to a draw by Chievo at the Estadio Olimpico prior to this Wednesday's trip to the Santiago Bernabéu to take on Real Madrid in the first Champions League Group G clash (9:00pm CEST). The madridistas' next opponents have now failed to win in their last three games in the Italian league.

Roma looked well on the way to taking all three points inside the first half-an-hour. El Shaarawy was set up by Florenzi to make it 1-0 with 10 minutes gone, and then 20 minutes later, Cristante doubled the lead. They were caught off guard by Chievo in the second half though, and the away side came back with goals from Birsa on 52’ and Stepinski on 83’. Di Francesco's team have 5 points so far in this league campaign, picking up one win, two draws and a defeat.
